Выборгский замок — уникальная достопримечательность города. Цитадель была заложена рыцарями крестоносцами в XIII веке в ходе Третьего крестового похода на Карельскую землю и завоёвана русской армией во время Северной войны 1710 г.
20 июня 1944 года войска Ленинградского фронта, которыми командовал Маршал Советского Союза Л.А. Говоров, штурмом взяли Выборг. Над старинной крепостью вновь взвился красный стяг.
