One of the most interesting birds out there - Flamingo. Flamingos are known to stand on one leg for extended periods—even while sleeping. Studies show that standing on two legs actually requires more muscle effort, so balancing on one leg might be less exhausting.
Another theory is that this posture helps conserve body heat. Birds lose heat through their limbs, so by tucking one leg under their body, flamingos reduce heat loss through their legs and feet.
