This monumental valley not only captivates visitors with the grandeur of its rocky cliffs, which have an elevation difference of about 700 meters, but also stands out as a natural divide between two of the most important hydrographic basins in Brazil: the São Francisco River basin, represented by the Bocaina Stream, and the Doce River basin, represented by the Peixe River.
The trail leading to Vale do Travessão is approximately 18 km long.
