Two male capercaillies are captured during their spring courtship ritual on a frost-covered clearing. The bird on the left sits low to the ground while its rival stands with beak agape, displaying aggressive behavior typical of lekking sites. Their dark feathers contrast sharply with the bright white wing patches and distinctive red eyebrows against a soft-focus natural backdrop.
