A Common Cuckoo captured in dynamic flight with its wings raised, revealing the striking barred underparts and beautifully patterned flight feathers. The clean natural background, sharp eye contact, and elegant wing position emphasize the distinctive silhouette and character of this remarkable European bird.
Damian, you’ve got excellent timing here. The shutter speed is perfect—freezing the motion of those wings without freezing the bird itself into stiffness. I particularly appreciate how the soft background separates the subject, allowing the eye to immediately lock onto that yellow iris and the distinct barring on the flight feathers. It’s a clean, well-composed action shot.
Is it difficult to track the cuckoo's erratic flight path in this habitat?

Thank you. Dear friend, the cuckoo is not an easy target to hit. The considerable shooting distance helps, and modern cameras allow for considerable cropping. Best regards.
Thank you very much for your comment. Best regards.
