Aleks, это скорее всего не скумпия, а рододендрон широчайший (Rhododendron latior) — он действительно растёт в Карачае и даёт такие яркие красные кусты на склонах. Николай же упоминал желтый рододендрон, но здесь преобладают именно красные оттенки.

Я знаю, что это. Это Rhododendron luteum. Широчайшего у нас нет У нас всего 3 вида: Rh. luteum, caucаsicum и очень-очень редко pоnticum.
