Тятя

Несомненная гордость жителей Кунашира - действующий вулкан Тятя. Это один из красивейших вулканов мира.

Удивителен он своей симметрией и формой — конус в конусе.

Такое домашнее название — Тятя — вулкан получил от японского названия Тятя-Дакэ. Вроде бы простое созвучие. Но на языке айнов, когда-то населявших этот остров, вулкан назывался Чача-Нупури, что переводится как «Отец-гора», так что название Тятя оказывается очень правильным.
