Жёлтая трясогузка приносит от 4 до 7 белых яиц в серую крапинку, коричневатыми чёрточками, миниатюрного размера до 15 мм в длину. Все две недели самка высиживает яйца, самец находится поблизости, охраняет гнездо, носит еду и кормит партнёршу. Птицы не пасуют перед врагом: кошкой, коршуном, а наоборот, поднимают шум, тем самым, вызывая на помощь других собратьев, и начинают преследовать объект опасности или отвлекать от гнезда.
