Пушкин в Торжке (часть 2)

Напротив гостиницы Пожарского была когда-то лавка с вывеской «Евгений Онегин – булочных и портновских дел мастер». Вполне вероятно, что именно в Торжке Пушкин нашел имя для главного героя своей поэмы. В книгах, письмах и набросках стихотворений поэта то и дело мелькает слово «Торжок». Он останавливался здесь 23 раза, и Евгения Онегина классик тоже отправлял скакать по Петербургскому тракту: «…мелькают мельком, будто тени пред ним Валдай, Торжок и Тверь».
