Indian Leopard, hiding, Jhalana, Arpan Saha

The Ghost of the Forest

Arpan Saha

English Name - Indian Leopard;
Location - Jhalana, Rajasthan, India;
Description - A full grown leopard hiding in a swallow patch of grass.
Image Taken - During our safari, as soon as we spotted a leopard, it hid in the grass and totally vanished from our sight. Four people on our safari vehicle, plus the driver and the guide with binocular cannot understand whether the leopard is still there or sneaked off. After waiting for 15 minutes, just as we started the vehicle to leave, the leopard raised its head from the exact same spot where it had vanished. A small cat could had in that grass but we were totally amazed to see a fully grown leopard flatten its body and vanish so easily in the tin grass...it is indeed the ghost of the forest!
