Белая американская цапля-Snowy Egret ( Egretta thula) использует капибару как транспортное средство.
Видовое название thula на арауканском языке относится к черношейному лебедю, и было дано по ошибке этой цапле Чилийским натуралистом Juan Ignacio Molina in 1782.
