Как рассказывают историки, в этих краях, близ села Кривая Лука на берегах Северского Донца царская армия сражалась с войсками восставшего казака Кондратия Булавина 1707-08 гг, а вот много раньше, князь Игорь, выйдя со своей дружиной к меловым горам на берегах Донца , назвал их "серебряными", о чём повествуется в "Слове о полку Игореве"...
