Их называют «Жилища горных духов» Такие пирамидки складывали на возвышенностях и считалось, что в них живут духи данной местности. Еще иногда каменные пирамидки можно встретить в скалах на камнях, ими помечают тропу среди скал или камней, где нет других ориентиров, но они маленькие совсем.

Добавлю немного. Такие пирамидки называют ОБО. Есть они и в Тыве , и в Монголии. Подробности в Википедии. А пирамидки , которые расположены вдоль туристических троп называют Туриками(возможны другие названия). Ставят , что бы не заблудится при плохой видимости.

Александр, сегодня эти пирамидки в основном творение туристов. На Сундуках во всяком случае. Люди не вникают в чужую культуру. Видят пирамидки и давай проявлять творчество, выламывают камни из кургана и городят.
