Emma Marashlyan

Средневековый армянский монастырский комплекс 10—13 вв. в одноименном селе Алавердского района. Обнесён крепостной стеной. Сохранились: главная церковь Ншана (967—991) со скульптурными изображениями ктиторов снаружи и росписями (13—14 вв.) внутри; церковь Григория (1005; перестроена в 1211) и небольшая купольная церковь Аствацацин (12—13 вв.); гавиты — большой (перестроен в 1209), покрытый системой перекрещивающихся арок, и Амазаспа (1257) — наибольший среди 4-столпных гавитов; трапезная (13 в.) с оригинальным арочным покрытием; книгохранилище (3-я четверть 13 в.); ярусная колокольня (1245); хачкары и др.
