Храм построен в традициях русского деревянного зодчества. Архитектор, заведующая архитектурно-строительным отделом Белгородско-Старооскольского епархиального управления Л.И. Колесникова. Храм освящен архиепископом Белгородским и Старооскольским Иоанном 5 мая 2007 года.
