Мукомольная мельница ливенских купцов Адамовых была построена в 1873 году на реке Сосне, в нескольких километрах от города Ливны вниз по течению. Когда-то она была пятой по объему производства муки в Российской империи. Мельницу построил Федор Иванович Адамов, по проекту сына Михаила - студента Петровско-Разумовской академии. В 1913 году на мельнице работало 85 рабочих, которые производили 585 тысяч пудов муки в год (более девяти тысяч тонн).
