Течение Гумбольдта проходит совсем рядом с Вальпараисо (Чили). Даже южноамериканским летом, в декабре-январе, вода не нагревается выше 17 градусов. А все остальное время ее температура около 8-10 градусов.

Именно поэтому с первыми лучами солнца город погружается в густой туман. Зарождаясь в заливе, туман быстро окутывает сначала прибрежные районы, а затем накрывает и весь город.

"Здесь море лезет изо всех дырок и вливается во все окна", - примерно так выразился когда-то Пабло Неруда.
