Waterfall glow

This was a shot on a very cold January night at Gullfoss Iceland. I was the only photographer who dared stay after sunset in the freezing winds, as the aurora was predicted to be very strong that night. The results astounded me as the full moon lit the scene while the red and green aurora danced above the waterfall.

Taken from above the relatively unknown area surrounding Uxatindur mountain in the Icelandic Highlands. This area is hard to reach and worth every km of rough driving and walking to get here. All alone, surrounded by the moss covered landscape - this place was a dream to photograph.

On a recent trip to Greenland, i got to photograph the iconic red sails boat sailing between the icebergs. The dramatic shape and color of the sails in sunset, the calm of the water and the reflection made it into an idyllic and serene scene to shoot.

During an intense Geomagnetic storm, i was able to capture the colorful aurora above the rocky landscape of the Reykjanes peninsula shores. I\'ve never witness so many shades of pinks and purple visible to the eye in any aurora show previously.
