August 16th. Tuesday

I woke up early, before sunrise. From here to Mono Lake only 2 hours, but at dawn I definitely do not have time, so you can go slowly, admire the local surroundings

Dawn from the car window. :

Mono Lake is an amazing very unusual place. I was two hours late at dawn, but it was still very beautiful.

And then on the road to Lake Tahoe.
A few miles to the lake, the entire road is studded with "No Parking" signs. No Parking.. No Parking.. No Parking.. No Parking.. It's already starting to feel like I'm having a roof or a
eyes are doubled.. or triples. I then dreamed of these signs at night. Even paid parking lots are packed to capacity.

I stopped in the state park, barely found a place to park. Everything is packed everywhere, a lot of people.Heat!!!

There were no vacant campsites here. Haha, the next time you will need to reserve in advance. There are no shower cabins here either, which I really hoped for, because the shore of the lake is a popular beach. Hmm..

Lake Tahoe is a huge picturesque lake. Scattered all along the coast are large beautiful cobblestones, which are begging for photos. The water in the lake is of some kind of neral bluish emerald color, transparent and very clean. The bottom clearly shines through it.

You can stand on the shore for a long time and admire the stunning views or you can choose one of the many paths and walk along the coast. However, the mood to hang out here in the heat, stumbling over huge crowds of tourists, on this day for some reason I do not have

In the late afternoon, the weather deteriorated, it began to rain. You can no longer dream of any beautiful sunset And therefore it becomes obvious that there is also no point in spending the night here. I spend the night in Renault in a hotel. It should be noted that in all 16 days of travel it was my first and last hotel. Just after 3 days on the road I really wanted to take a shower. And so of course to spend the night in a noisy dusty hotel there is no pleasure.

18th August.Thursday

Burney Falls

McCloud Falls.

McCloud Falls

( Crater Lake)
Mossbrae Falls

Mosbrae Falls!

Crater Lake. So many times I saw this miracle in photographs (once I even painted a picture, although I had never been here before.) And how long I wanted to get here. I can't even believe that the dream has finally come true.

I do not even undertake to describe this miracle of nature in words. The only thing that I want to note is that this island (Wizard Island) in the middle of the lake in reality seems to be just huge.

In the morning, the sun came out from behind the mountain and immediately the morning light turned into a white daylight. I never understood where it was better to shoot everything at dawn and whether there is a beautiful sunrise here. Well, one day I will have to come back here.

  August 20th. Saturday

Today, the road takes me to Silver Falls State Park.

There are two waterfalls on the way: Watson and Toketee.
Both are wonderful, the paths through the rainforest are short and uncomplicated. It's a pleasure to walk under these huge shady trees overgrown with thick green moss; among tall ferns and endless babbling streams.

Watson Falls

In the photo, this 90-meter miracle did not fit in any way, so I shoot on video

Toketee Falls

Next, the navigator glucaned something, there was no signal and I had to figure out on the map where to go. For some reason, it took longer than expected.I finally get to the silver waterfalls at dusk.

Silver Falls SP is the largest state park in Oregon with an area of more than 9,000 acres, it includes more than 24 miles of hiking trails, 14 miles of horse trails and a 4-mile bike path. Its 8.7-mile Ten Waterfall Trail runs along the banks of Silver Creek and at the ten waterfalls from which the park gets its name. Four out of ten waterfalls have an amphitheater environment that allows the trail to pass behind the stream of waterfalls and admire their beauty from the other side, as if from behind the scenes.

The place is completely unique and therefore it is not difficult to guess how popular it is. I was very lucky to be able to find a spot on Camping in the middle of the weekend. There are a lot of people. Throughout the night, tentmates tried to drive away wild animals (small ones) by flashing their flashlights and throwing stones and sticks in different directions. Here are the assholes: there is no way to remove food and garbage and sleep peacefully. 1st time in the woods, or what?

August 21st. Sunday

I woke up early, already at 6.40 I was on the entrance to the park. The gate opened at 7 and I was the first on the trail. It's something incredible. Perhaps this path will be one of the most beloved and memorable. I am very fond of such a forest with huge branchy trees overgrown with green moss. There are murmurs of streams everywhere. The morning is fresh and not hot, but the most important thing is the waterfalls.

How many waterfalls can you pass in one day? Two? Four? How about ten? And it's not a joke. The trail is called Trail of 10 Falls. For about 8 miles, it skirts 10 amazing waterfalls. Each of them is unique and beautiful in its own way. Each has its own name. (Unfortunately I don't remember all the names, but if I have a little something, I can look in the brochure)

In some places you can go through the place of the waterfall and admire as if from behind the scenes

A wonderful place, not surprisingly, on the way back the whole huge parking lot was crowded, and the trail was already filled with people, but I managed to enjoy the beauty of this park in silence and almost alone. Class!

Then I go to Tawanawas Falls. It's somewhere in the Portland area. On the way, I buy groceries and find a place to spend the night in this huge cozy forest.

August 22nd. Monday.

Another magical waterfall pleased with its beauty. 3.4 miles walk through this fabulous forest as a morning warm-up is only a joy.
Tawanawas Falls:

Today is exactly the week of my trip. Sometimes you want to wake up early, rush somewhere, have time everywhere, not be late anywhere. But today it's the opposite.. I want to sit quietly on this cozy shady camping, walk along the river, breathe this forest air, just be here, do nothing and do not rush anywhere.

Camp site is called Sherwood, somewhere in the Portland area. One day I will definitely return here, but for now there are new roads and amazing places waiting for me ahead, so back on the road.

I moved to the Hood River and here I am in Washington state. Along The 14th Road there are 2 waterfalls. The trail to Spirit Falls was closed due to fires, but Dog Creek Falls is right on the road and not a single person.

Panther Creek Falls pleased with its beauty and unusualness. Here you could go down to the very foot of the waterfall. What a beauty!

I spend the night camping Beaver. in a tent. Summer. Warmth. Forest.. silence.. Ok!!!

August 23rd. Tuesday.

Today's plan is Falls Creek Falls, a lower waterfall, 3.2 miles. At 8 a.m., my car was first in the parking lot. One hour along the magical forest path to the waterfall and one hour at the waterfall. Not a single living soul. Falls Creek Falls pleased with its beauty and power. Just a delight!!

Perhaps it was one of the most beautiful waterfalls of the whole trip

I didn't want to leave at all.

I don't get to Lewis River Falls today, because again I had to reserve a pass in advance. What a pity...

I'm going to Mt.Rainier National Park.. A-A-A !!! My heart is happily clenched at the mere mention of this name. I was there exactly a year ago and loved it to the depths of my soul: mountains, flowers, waterfalls, lakes, stunning sunsets and sunrises, fogs, rain ... berries, mushrooms, wild animals, birds... and this amazing fairytale forest.. and the smell (the smell of the freshness of the early morning, the coniferous forest, the flowers.. ) well, about it "neither in a fairy tale to say, nor with a pen to describe." I will try to convey at least a little on the photo, but I already know in advance that it is unlikely that it will work.
Due to roadworks, the road to the main and perhaps the most picturesque part of paradise park is unfortunately closed until Friday, so I am going to take a detour to Sunrise ( Dawn of the Sun). This is another, slightly remote, but no less picturesque part of the park. The weather is wonderful, an endless array of colors.. I find a place for a tent on the Winter River Camping, build a fire.. dinner and sleep.

24th Augusta. Environment.

Mt. Rainier is great anywhere. The views around are stunning, many different colors. However, the walk to Frozen Lake somehow did not meet my expectations. perhaps because of the heat, but most likely because of the huge number of tourists.

Now we have to decide whether to stay here until Friday or take a detour to Paradise. After all, the road will open only on Friday morning. I decide to go to Paradise.
