В верхнем течении река Оредеж пробивается сквозь толщи девонских осадочных пород. Русло местами приобретает каньонообразный характер, а высокие берега обрываются обнажениями красных девонских песчаников. Самые живописные участки русла расположены в районе поселков Сиверский и Белогорка и носят название "Сиверский каньон". Ленинградская область, Гатчинский район
