My name is Ammar Selmanovic, | was born on July 7th 1991 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, city of Bihac where i live.My love towards photography was born in high school when I got my first phone with “solid” camera that was only 2mpx. I was so happy about it, I started taking photos of my backyard, photos of my friends in school, nature, city and whatever cought my eye. Since then my love for photography showed its real form. I have been inspired whole my life with river Una and all beauties that my city offers. The first place that took my first photographs was my local area. And al photographs were inspired with beautiful river that flows through my city.
Here are few interesting things about my city and river Una;
Bihac is a city on river Una. It is located on an extremely favorable position and has always been a crossroad of important roads. The contact of East and Wet itself, old and new can be seen on every step. Natural beauties and food is something that cannot be denied to this city. A well-known river Una flows through the center of the city, and when you look at any part of Una, it is a special story.
My initiatives
First initiative was about promoting tourism and my city Bihac through art photography, sadly there was not enough interests for support. Second similar initiative was sent to capital city of Bosnia And Herzegovina, Sarajevo, but without any answers to it. Third initiative was sent to one of NGO foundations, also without any success. Since i love Landscape, Nature and there is my heart i did not stopped trying. I made my own calendar for 2020 year and sent it on multiple adresses, but,none sent any back informations. When it come to success, I belive that i got many since iam into photography about 3 years. First competition that i applied to was at “I Love Una” The Best Photo Of River Una, there was three entries, and most photos got passed to second phase with facebook likes, since i do not have facebook i send mine photographs and hoped that they will pass on second phase which would get my photo displayed at center city gallery. My main goal was to get to know other photographers and share expirience. Two of my photos did not pass with likes, but one passed with jury votes
that photo is called “ Misty Dream”. When it came to anouncement of the winner on day that all photographs from second phase was displayed, they pronounced my photo first place..And there was my first competition.
